In the Summer of 2020 I received an a-n The Artists Information Company and Arts Council England bursary to develop outdoor sculpture. Thanks to this bursary, I have developed a whole new collection of sculptures. I make the complete sculptures myself, including welding the metal for the frames!
These three sculptures are available for purchase and a full set of images and details are given below.
‘Chesterfield Canal Sunset’ Outdoor Sculpture
This sculpture is inspired by the sunsets I see reflected in the Chesterfield Canal when walking on the towpath. It is made from fused glass, framed in mild steel painted black. It is available for purchase priced £650. Dimensions are 52cm h x 50cm w x 26cm d. Please contact me if you are interested.
‘Grasses on Manton Flood Plain’ Outdoor Sculpture
Just 10 minutes walk along the towpath from my boat mooring on the Chesterfield Canal, is a River Ryton flood plain. This sculpture is based upon sunlight reflecting on the seed heads of grasses growing across the flood plain. It is made from fused glass, framed in mild steel painted black. The frame is constructed to allow the sculpture to oscillate in a breeze. It is available for purchase priced £475. Dimensions are 110cm h x 50cm w x 30cm d. Please contact me if you are interested.
‘Windswept Water’ Outdoor Sculpture
In addition to the nature scenes I observe on the canal, I love the patterns created by light on the surface of the water. This sculpture uses sections of fused glass, layered to mirror reflections in water. It is framed in mild steel painted black. The frame is constructed to allow the sculpture to oscillate in a breeze. It is available for purchase priced £475. Dimensions are 109cm h x 41cm w x 37cm d. Please contact me if you are interested.
‘Reflected Tree’ Commissioned Outdoor Sculpture
This commission of a tree reflected in a river is based upon photographs of the type of tree and the colours the customers selected to include in the piece.
‘Manton Towpath’ Outdoor Sculpture
This is an outdoor piece called ‘Manton Towpath’. It is based upon a scene I see regularly on the Chesterfield Canal. The dimensions of the work are 51cm h x 51cm w x 25cm, price £650. Each sculpture is unique, but please contact me if you are interested in commissioning a sculpture in this style..
‘Wave Form’ Outdoor Sculpture
This commissioned sculpture ‘Wave Forms’ is based upon the original test piece I made in 2020 (see below). This version has a more developed supporting sculpture with the metal echoing the shapes of the glass.
The photo above is of an original test piece which has survived snow, storms and gales!
